Really good zoom lens: I have had this lense for 3-4 years now, it’s an awesome zoom lens, takes sharp pictures and can do portraits from afar … it’s versatile going from 55mm all the way to 250. It’s a must have!

A versatile lens for macro, sports and wildlife: As a photographer who uses a wheelchair this lens has been a great addition to my collection.

The zoom on it is sufficient for me to be able take snappy and clear wildlife photos as well as crisp macro shots of insects and flowers.

The focus is fast enough for me to be able to use it at club sports games.

Overall an excellent addition for someone looking to continue developing their skills.

great zoom: when my dad passed i got given all of his camera stuff and this lens was with the EOS450D he had and i used that to agessss until i got my new camera and now i use this lens nearly all the time to capture my boyfriend surfing

The lens that takes me through almost anything: For 12 years, I have used my EF S 55-250mm as my go-to lens of choice. The image quality and light range is brilliant. I can shoot action shots, still life, dusk light, whatever I want for most days shots. I ignore the AF function, as it is so simple to focus and zoom manually. There are limitations (I don't use it for night sky shots), but that is not to say that someone else might give preference for longer exposure shots using this lens. One of Canon's best all rounders.
