This is a very solid build macro probe that can be used to point to where that difficult to reach by a cell phone, for example, very narrow gaps, behind leaves, or under the water. It is only used for cell phone.It has a full metal build and coated black. It feels solid and robust. There is a focus ring in the middle that you can fine tune it to focus on what you want to take photo. There is a ring of LED lights at the tip that can illuminate the object for photograph. There a power button to turn on and adjust the LED illumination.The macro probe comes with a mounting stand that can be used with a standard tripod that has a ¼ screw. In addition, it comes with a robust hard-shell case to protect the macro probe.

This 18mm 2x macro probe lens from brand NEEWER is unique, and I think there is only one other similar option out there designed for full-sized mirrorless cameras, at a substantially higher price point. This lens setup is probably the best choice for mobile macro photo or video recording with a phone right now, offering 2x magnification and a 17mm thread which is the mobile standard. It captures detailed shots of small objects, like jewelry or insects, and allows me to create really unique video footage as well. So far, image quality is crisp, with minimal distortion.I paired this lens with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I only wish I had ordered a camera cage or something with the option to attach lenses to it, back when I first got this phone, because finding a compatible case with a 17mm thread was definitely a challenge, but it was worth it for the stunning macro shots.But that is neither here nor there, since there are newer generations of iPhones and other mobile devices out, all with 17mm thread cages or cases, so that has nothing to do with the product in general. This is definitely fantastic for what it is, and if you need a unique lens like this for your mobile setup, then just get it. There are few others out there like it. 5 stars.

I do quite a bit of photography, however, I'm new to this game of using a Probe-Lens although I've been reading about it ever since the first commercial unit for smartphones became available.Neewer products have become synonymous with high-quality at a budget, and this 18mm 2X Macro Probe Lens is no different in carrying on that legacy.Build quality is excellent, and it works!Focus and clarity is spot-on. The 17mm thread fits correctly.Comes in a nice strong carry/storage-case.

It has a 17mm threading on the rear, so you'll need to find a way to adapt that to your phone if you intend to use it that way. I don't have a threading on my phone, so I have to hold it up to the lens and hope it doesn't scratch anything. I was under the impression it was going to come with an adapter or something to clip it to the phone, but I was wrong.It has LED's, and is rechargeable, so you can drop this into a poorly lit area and still see what you're doing.The lens quality is pretty good, but that's also going to depend on the phone you're using.Overall a neat tool.
